On May 1 in front of distinguished guests, Her Excellency Ms Deborah Stokes, Australia’s High Commissioner to PNG, opened an extension to the Operation Food for Life Literacy School in the village of Wildlife, Port Moresby.

Acknowledging that there is no payroll in our charity, Ms Stokes paid tribute to Operation Food for Life and all involved in the school  for making a significant contribution to educate poor and disadvantaged children who would face an uncertain future without  the benefit of education.

During the ceremony Ms Stokes presented a new Australian Flag which immediately was raised on the new school flagpole, with the Australian National Anthem filling the village as the flag ascended.

The extension to the school provides an additional area for more student enrolment and an outdoor area for children away from the classrooms to have shelter in unfavourable weather conditions.
